There is a new addition at this year’s Drumheller and District 4-H Show and Sale as members of the Morrin Multi Club join the action with sheep.
The Mail has learned there are six lamb projects that will be at the Show and Sale this coming Monday, June 3 at the Delia Arena.
Hallee Rasmussen is in Grade 5 and is raising a lamb named Jimmy. This is her first lamb, and it is new to the entire club.
“One person in our group has a sheep farm but no one else has,” said Hallee.
“It was a lot of hands-on work and was really hard. We are still working with them every day, and sometimes twice a day.”
Despite this, Jimmy has been a great project.
“Sometimes it is a struggle to catch him but after he is on his halter he is very well trained and he’s fairly easy to walk,” said Hallee. “He’s not too rambunctious, sometimes he is crazy but sometimes he is calm.”
She has been a member of the Morrin Multi Club for two years.
“I like that there is a lot of hands-on work and it is really fun and I get to work with animals, because I really like animals,” she said.
The show starts at 10 a.m. and the sale is at 7 p.m. at the Delia Arena.
