Contractor hired for Aquaplex repairs

The Town of Drumheller has hired a contractor to make the needed repairs to the Aquaplex. These repairs will involve pouring a concrete slurry under the damaged drain. These repairs will be covered under warranty.

As outlined in an earlier release, one of the drain structures at the deep end of the pool has a wide split on the side, which water was leaking through. It was found that the crack has been caused by the drain slumping due to a loss of support underneath. The contractor will be mud jacking under the drain and then making repairs to the drain structure.

"Coordination of sub-contractors by the contractor will see the work starting on Friday and being completed by November 26th,” said Darryl Drohomerski CAO of the Town of Drumheller. “After the repairs are completed, it will take around 10 days to fill and heat the pool and have the water tested by Alberta Health Services.”
