Smoke continues to cover valley with no relief in sight

IMG 4454

Air quality continues to be poor in Drumheller due to the wildfires burning in B.C., and there doesn't seem to be an end in sight as the province continues to battle over 560 wildfires.

Environment Canada has issued special air quality statements for much of the province, with Calgary and Edmonton hitting 10 on the air quality index, and Drumheller doesn't seem much better off.

Environment Canada encourages people to avoid strenuous outside activity, especially for children and the elderly and especially those suffering from lung or cardiovascular conditions. They say stay inside if you have difficulty breathing and find an indoor place that's cool and ventilated. Air conditioners which cool and filter air may help. The BCF library is a great place to go if you need somewhere air conditioned to stay.
