The Town of Drumheller is wondering how best to communicate with the public and are conducting a public participation survey until this Wednesday.
Council reviewed a draft public participation plan at their commitee meeting on June 18 which, when passed, would set guidelines and requirements for how and when administration seek public input. The plan is a requirement of the Municipal Government Act, a piece of legislation which provides governance models for municipalities and will lay the foundation for how municipalities operate. The MGA requires the town to establish a public participation policy by July 23.
"This survey is to discover how people would like to be consulted on different issues," said town CAO Darryl Drohomerski. "We want to engage more with our residents moving forward and this survey will give them an opportunity to share their ideas about how we can do this most effectively."
The online survey is available at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/59B9DVL with a paper survey also available at the Drumheller Public Library and the Badlands Community Facility. The deadline for completion is Wednesday, June 27 at 4 pm.
