Reeve & Council would like to thank all Emergency Services personnel, County Administration & Staff, and everyone that was there for us on May 25, 2018, as our community suffered a great loss in losing our Administration Office.
We lost not only a great new building, but also quite likely a great deal of historical and current information. The recovery process will take time but we are confident that Starland County will emerge as strong as ever. We thank all those who reached out to us offering office space, staffing, as well as those who helped to feed everyone and keeping all the emergency personnel hydrated. Finally we are very grateful to all those local citizens and companies that started supplying Morrin with water after our sources were depleted by the firefighting efforts. It truly was a community effort.
County staff are currently meeting in the New Munson Fire Station for the interim until a suitable location is set up. We have a great team of staff that are all working together to get many tasks completed and are preparing to move forward wherever they are located. It has been very emotional for many staff as they have given decades to the County and feel it as a personal loss. They all want to get to work and recover as much as possible as they are concerned about the many projects they are currently working on for the ratepayers and public.
As Reeve & Council, we stand behind them in support and offer any help that we can give in order to help make this process as painless as possible. We are truly impressed by their passion to get things going again better than ever, and I believe they will.
