The Drumheller and District Chamber of Commerce (DDCC) has received the 2017 Chamber of the Year Award from the provincial chambers of commerce organization.
The DDCC was selected for a variety of achievements in 2017 including the Business Advocacy Committee’s success in advocating for a shop local component in the Town’s Purchasing Policy, the addition of the Lunch & Learn program, and a second summer operating a mobile Visitor Information Centre at the Royal Tyrrell Museum. The chamber previously received the award in 2013.
Staff members Marley Henneigh and Heather Bitz accepted the award at Alberta Chambers of Commerce’s provincial conference on May 24-26 in Grande Prairie.
“It is a great honour to be recognized amongst our fellow Chambers of Commerce for our efforts in the business community, and we thank all our board of directors, staff, and members that contribute to our success over the past year,” said DDCC executive director Heather Bitz.
Drumheller received the award for the 151-350 membership category. Fellow recipients in different categories included St. Paul, Lloydminister, and Red Deer.
