This Sunday, members of the community whose lives have been touched by Multiple Sclerosis will be out in force to raise awareness and funds to help those who suffer from the debilitating condition.
The Jayman Built MS Walk goes this Sunday, May 6, at the Badlands Community Facility. Already there are 14 teams and 65 walkers registered for the annual event. This is a great community event that has the aim of improving the lives of those with MS.
The funds from the MS walk go towards research as well as to fund programs that support those with MS locally.
Check-in starts at 9 a.m. and the start time is at 10 a.m. There are two route lengths; 2 km and 5 km, for walkers to choose from. both offer a great Sunday morning walk.
The online goal of the event is to raise $33,350, and so far there has been $5,250 logged. The leading team is the In Memory of Frank Laslo team, which always has a strong presence at the walk. It has already raised about $1,600 alone.
