It’s never too early to start, and elementary school students at St. Anthony’s are getting into the basketball spirit.
The school has introduced little league basketball. This project is being spearheaded by the high school Recreation Leadership students. The program is designed for Grade 1-3 students to try out the game, have fun and learn some skills.
“There are eight sessions; six of which are right after school for the next month,” said teacher Gavin Makse. ‘There will be two sessions that will be at halftime at the senior boy’s game and then at the Junior A boys tournament.”
The youngsters are having fun and developing as lil’ hoopsters. The players are learning basic skills as well as teamwork and sportsmanship.
