Rotary Radio Auction back on air

The Drumheller Rotary Club is already preparing for one of its flagship events coming up in just days.
The Rotary Radio Auction will be back on the air live come October 11 and 12.
This event is lots of fun and a great fundraiser for the service club. Chair Brent Pedersen says the club holds the event every second year.
“We are rolling again, we are out campaigning and looking for support from our local merchants,” he said.
This year the Rotary has partnered with CFCW radio, and both nights will be on the radio from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.
The items up for auction will be listed in “The Drumheller Mail”, and through the Rotary website and social media.
The broadcast and listings allow supporters to bid in the comfort of their own home, or they can come down to Greentree Mall, see the items in person and enjoy wine and cheese.
“Everyone wins. It’s an enjoyable two evenings. The more participation, the more funds that will go to projects to support youth, families, and seniors,” says Rotary President Ian Cassels. Some of the items offered on the block include high-end electronics, sports memorabilia and Flames and Oilers tickets.
“It is one of our largest fundraisers we do locally, and the thing I like about it is the money stays in the community,” said Pedersen. “It goes back into projects we have done and we are planning in the future.”
