Woman accused in fundraiser theft to return to court in June

Court House 2

A woman accused of taking funds from a fundraiser for a young man battling cancer made a brief appearance in provincial court in Drumheller Friday morning, February 10.

Ashley Fredrickson was charged last year with theft under $5,000. It is alleged that funds from a silent auction held April 2016 from a fundraiser to benefit the Hall family were not forwarded to them. These funds were to help with expenses incurred during cancer treatments for Brandon Hall.

Frederickson made her initial court appearance by an agent in August of last year. She pleaded not guilty and set a trial date for February 10. In court she asked for an adjournment so she could get legal advice.

She is slated to return to court Friday, June 16.
