Dinosaur Trail Golf and Country Club will be looking a lot different come the next season as the former clubhouse and pro shop is slated for demolition.
Last weekend the club held a garage sale to empty the facility and has reached an agreement with The Town of Drumheller to assist in demolishing the former facility.
Greg Morrow of the club’s board, explains everything will now be run out of the new clubhouse.
“The pro shop portion will be moved into the clubhouse facility. We will be housing that in the southeast corner of the clubhouse,” he said.
There will also be some storage outside the clubhouse with a Seacan.
He said their efforts are to make the club more viable.
“The fact of the matter is it would serve everybody better if we just had the pro shop within the new facility,” he explains. “It is going to reduce our management costs and our maintenance costs. With flooding this spring, it prompted us to take a more direct approach to doing something.”
There are no immediate plans for the site.
“With the old one, once we get it knocked down and leveled out, we are still debating things that might happen,” he said.
