Alberta Progressive Conservative Party leadership candidate Jason Kenney was in Drumheller for a meet and greet Thursday evening.
Interested residents, including MLA Rick Strankman came out to the Canalta Jurassic hotel to learn more about Mr. Kenney and his political career, as well as his platform. Kenney is running in the hopes of uniting the free enterprise parties in the province with the end goal of toppling the Alberta NDP government.
One target he spoke on was the impending carbon tax to be implemented in the new year.
"This is just an expensive political exercise designed to make politicians feel good about themselves," he said.
Those in attendance were responsive to his message.
Kenney's visit came on the heels of Wildrose MLA Derek Fildebrandt announcing his support for unification.
