Alberta Transportation will be undertaking to replace a collapsing culvert on Highway 575 next summer and are looking for feedback on road closure options.

The department, in conjunction with the Town of Drumheller will be holding an Open House on November 9 at the BCF 5-7 p.m. The Open House is to inform residents about a project to replace a large culvert passes under Highway 575 South Railway Avenue (between Premier Road and 9th Street SW).

Due to the size of the project, the road will need to be closed for a period of time. The partners want to hear feedback on road closure options.

“The open house is a chance to discover more about the project and the timelines involved,” explains Darryl Drohomerski, director of Infrastructure Services. “It is an opportunity to meet the team who will be completing the work and to hear the options for the road closure which will likely start in August 2017.”

“It is important to keep local businesses and residents informed of the impact on the busy North Dinosaur Trail and so we will be doing a mail out as well,” said Julia Fielding Economic Development and Communications officer for the Town of Drumheller. “We encourage people to respond to the mail out or attend the Open House as we want to hear from people who will be most affected by the road changes over the time period.”
