St. Anthony’s featuring new after school choir

st a choir

Tuesday afternoons at St. Anthony’s now have musical flare thanks to kindergarten teacher Ms. Mably with the help of Laurie Lotts. This is the choir’s first year. When Ms. Mably came to Drumheller’s St. Anthony’s at the beginning of this school year, she saw the lack of after school music and arts programs for the students. This prompted her to talk to Ms. Lotts about starting a choir.  Ms. Mably told inSide Drumheller, “I have a passion to promote arts in the school. I saw the need with the lack of there being a choir in this school for an extra curricular program. The kids that aren’t involved in sports and interested in music can now have something.” So far, the choir has had two practices with over 20 students with hopes of more to join. The choir meets on Tuesdays after school and incorporate grades three to six. The choir will be singing for their first time at the Remembrance Day Assembly on Thursday, November 10 at 9:00 a.m. They also have plans to sing at the local spring music festival.
