Rotary gives back to the community

The Drumheller Rotary Club made three donations last week to well deserving community organizations.
Rotary donated cheques to Two Wheel View, the youth bicycle ride from Drumheller to Banff, the Greentree School breakfast program, and the Munson Community Hall.
“The club is pleased to support these efforts which are the result of our fundraising,” said Rotary president John Shannon. “The general public supports these projects, and in turn, the money is dedicated to worthy causes.”
The Two Wheel Views’ Badlands to Banff trip involves youth and the RCMP in this life enhancement opportunity that’s partnered with the Duke of Edinburgh youth awards, receiving $500 from Rotary.
Greentree School’s breakfast program manager Doreen Oliver told the meeting that the breakfast program is very important as about 100 students participate. She says fundraising to keep the program going is a constant challenge, but got a big boost with a $1,000 donation.
Becky Kowalchuk informed the club that Munson is close to opening the doors of its new community hall for events, and the $500 donation from Rotary was much appreciated to help fund the new facility.
