Kneehill County celebrated the official Grand Opening of their new Administration Building and Kneehill Medical Clinic, 1600, 2nd St NE, Three Hills, on Friday, July 8, 2016.

Over 600 people from the region, and beyond, enjoyed a free lunch followed by facility tours throughout the afternoon. Total budget for the project was $11,750,000.  That figure includes a $750,000 Ag Service Board (ASB) addition at the County Shop.  The remaining $11,000,000 was for the Admin Building and Medical Clinic.  The highway intersection re-build cost, as per Alberta Transportation, was also included in that figure.  The budget was made up of building reserves of $8.8 million and $2.9 million in Provincial Grants.  As of July 4, 2016, the entire project came in on time and under budget by $1,320,000. The final project, including ASB addition, is approximately $10,500,000.

The Administration Office includes the Council Chamber, Meeting Rooms, and 25 offices.

The Medical Clinic is located in the west wing with its own entrance. Kneehill County Council gathered to cut the ribbon on their new Administration Building and then joined the Regional Clinic Physicians to cut the official ribbon opening the clinic. Kneehill County Reeve Bob Long was Master of Ceremonies and welcomed everyone to the grand event.  Speaking dignitaries included Minister of Health the Honourable Sarah Hoffman, Dr. Evan Lundall - AHS, Kneehill CAO Al Hoggan, MP for Battle River - Crowfoot Kevin Sorenson, Olds/Didsbury/Three Hills MLA Nathan Cooper, and County Councillor Carol Calhoun.  Carol was Reeve of Kneehill County when the dream to construct this amazing facility began. Also in attendance were Mayors, Reeves and Councillors from neighbouring urban communities and counties.
