Habitat for Humanity  Southern Alberta is proud to announce the official formation of a new Chapter in Drumheller.
Habitat Drumheller has already received tremendous community support through the commitment of 12 volunteer committee members, who will be the advocates of Habitat in Drumheller and help to plan, fundraise and manage their local build projects.
Chris Curtis, local Drumheller resident and CEO of CG International, has been nominated as Habitat Drumheller’s Chapter Chair.
“We’re thrilled to bring Habitat here to our local community,” Curtis said. “Many families struggle to find affordable home ownership, so we’re excited for the opportunity to bring the community together and help provide a solution.”
Habitat Drumheller has received a donation of land, where they hope to build one duplex to provide affordable home ownership opportunities for two local families. Families who partner with Habitat purchase their homes at market value, and then pay monthly, affordable mortgage payments that are reinvested into Habitat’s build fund to help build more homes for more families.
Habitat Drumheller will rely on the financial support of numerous community partners to make affordable home ownership possible for local families. The Chapter hopes to break ground on their first build project in August 2018 once fundraising is well under way.
