Residents have decided on the Canada Day Parade theme in an online poll, and have decided upon “Drumheller Through the Ages.”
The poll, which closed on April 8, saw “Drumheller Through the Ages” narrowly win with 35 per cent of the vote, trailed by “Find Your Adventure” at 34 per cent and “Red and White” at 31 per cent.
“There are a lot of different ways people can work with that theme,” said Drumheller Chamber Services Coordinator Marley Henneigh.
“We have a pretty creative community that is really enthusiastic. We could see a big variety of points in time, like different decades, heritage themes or dinosaurs or maybe even some futuristic stuff.”
Canada Day events will be held again at both the World’s Largest Dinosaur and at the Badlands Community Facility, including inflatable bouncy structures, face painting, a headline performance by local country singer and former Canadian Idol contestant Jaydee Bixby, as well as food trucks.
A press release from the Chamber is expected next week which will reveal any route changes for the parade.
