Parade planned for Hand Hills Stampede Centennial

The Hand Hills Lake Stampede is getting ready to celebrate its centennial and part of the party is a parade.

The Hand Hills Lake Stampede 100th anniversary performance is coming up June 3-5 and is looking like it will be the celebration of the century.

One of the organizers, Merle Morton, says they typically have a parade at milestone events, and the centennial is their biggest milestone yet.

“The Miller family will be leading the Parade,” explains Morton. “Jack Miller, their grand dad, started the first rodeo.”

The parade is on the Saturday morning, June 4 at 10 a.m. Registration is 8:30 to 9:30 a.m.

“We would like people to call and let us know they are coming, and then we will do the registrations as they get there,” said Morton.

The Stampede welcomes entries from farms, families, community organizations, and businesses to participate.

Those wishing to enter can call Merle Morton at 403-665-2369.
