An arrest has been made in the case of an alleged forcible entry and sexual assault.
www.drumhellermail.com reported that on January 10, a resident in a local apartment building opened his door to a male requesting to use their phone. The culprit forced his way into the home and sexually assaulted the occupant.
The Drumheller RCMP detachment, along with the Drumheller General Investigation section investigated. A police dog unit from Wetaskiwin was brought in to attempt to pick up a track on the culprit.
This investigation has now resulted in charges.
On Wednesday, January 20, 2016 RCMP arrested and charged 18 year old, Luke Entz of Drumheller, Alberta with sexual assault, sexual assault with a weapon, forcible confinement, uttering a threat to cause death and break and enter with intent to commit an indictable offence.
Entz has been remanded and is in custody. He is scheduled to make his first court appearance at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 22, 2016 in Drumheller Provincial Court.
