Big Valley Village reports successful 2015

Big Valley

Big Valley Village Council is proud to continue our commitment to improving core infrastructure within the Village.
In 2015 the Village  was able to complete a major road rebuild and paving of 3rd Ave. S.  and the project came in under budget.
Planning is already underway for various repairs and upgrades to the wastewater collection system in 2016.  There will also be equipment purchased in the New Year to improve the function and lifespan of the water reservoir.
The Village also saw a housing market increase with the addition of a couple of new residences and the sale of several others.
In addition, Big Valley was prominent in sports with Big Valley Thunder team winning the Peewee D Provincials and local contestants excelling in rodeo and agricultural events.
Big Valley also takes great pride in celebrating the success of local organizations.  The Big Valley Historical Society held an Open House for the new Vintage Tools & Collectibles Museum.  Also, the Hivernant Métis Cultural Society made a successful application for land re-zoning in preparation for the construction of an interpretive Métis Village display.
2015 was another successful tourist season for  local museums, historical sites, businesses and attractions.
The Village  looks forward to continuing to provide more things to see and do in Big Valley in the New Year.
