Boston Pizza staff rally for one of their own

Staff at Boston Pizza, the company, and its loyal customers came together to help one of their own.
On Tuesday, December 8, staff organized a fundraiser for Candy Hamm. Hamm has been with Boston Pizza for over 10 years, but last month she ran into some dire health issues.
On Thursday, November 12, she left work and was rushed to the Foothills Hospital in Calgary. She had a ruptured brain aneurism and underwent emergency surgery. The operation was successful, but she still has a long road to recovery.
To help her out, staff on Tuesday night donated 100 per cent of their tips and Boston Pizza matched this amount. Customers also gave by tipping big, rounding up their bill and making cash donations. At lunchtime on Tuesday, $1 from every pizza combo sold also went to support Hamm.
In all, the evening raised $2,800, and Hamm expressed her heartfelt thanks on the Drumheller Boston Pizza Facebook page.
“I am sitting here with tears, it’s funny how things in life can change so fast, I am so thankful to each and every person who has come together to make this successful,” she wrote. “On the morning this happened, when they told me what it was, I did not realize I could of died… Thank you Drumheller for always rallying to support those in our community who need it.”
