  • The Province is committed to working with the Town of Drumheller on a

flood mitigation plan which will consider all options eligible for funding

under the Alberta Community Resilience Program, including buyout

provisions.

flood mitigation will be to 1890 cubic meters per second, which is a 1:100

regulated flow.

  • The Province recognizes that Drumheller's emergency response plan is

key to overall flood hazard area management and fits into the layered

approach identified in the province's Respecting Our Rivers guiding

document.

  • The Province will consider all options eligible for funding under the Alberta

Community Resilience Program when finalizing the overall mitigation plan.

Mayor Yemen states "the meeting with the Province is a step in the right direction

and the Province has agreed to support the Town of Drumheller with public and

landowner engagement". The Province commended the Town of Drumheller for

all the work the Town has put into the development of a plan.
