The Town of Drumheller has been receiving complaints over water taste and odour.
The Town of Drumheller has been working on a solution to residents water complaints, and issued a press release this morning:
The Town of Drumheller began receiving complaints about taste and odor in the Drumheller municipal water supply on Friday, October 17th resulting from the blending of raw water cells for winter operations. As a result of these complaints, the Town of Drumheller has changed cells and is now drawing water from the freshest cell. As of Monday, October 20th at 9:00 AM, there is no taste and odor in the water leaving the plant. The Town of Drumheller has started a flushing program that will move across the entire community to remove any water that may have taste or odor concerns. We expect this flushing to be completed prior to the end of the week. Director of Infrastructure Services AI Kendrick commented that "the Town continues to conduct bacteriological testing and ongoing monitoring". He further commented that, "the water is safe for consumption".
