Mayor Terry Yemen is headed back to Ukraine to act as an electoral observer in the upcoming Ukrainian election.
This is not the first time Yemen has been to Ukraine to assist in democratic elections. He was there in 2012 and, most recently, this past spring when Petro Poroshenko was elected President.
He will be part of a CANADEM mission which is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping countries achieve peace and security through the mobilization and mission management of experts from across Canada and around the world committed to international service.
Ukrainians will be heading to the polls October 26th as part of early parliamentary elections. Mayor Yemen will be departing Canada on October 20th and will be in Ukraine for 10 days.
