Dragons make it three wins

The Drumheller Dragons faced the Okotoks Oilers at the Memorial Arena Tuesday night and won their third game of the season with a score of 6-1.

The action started early as the Dragons' Dakota Zaharichuk opened scoring one minute and forty-three seconds into the game with an assist from Ethan James. At 9:08 Mitchell Cook scored the Dragons second goal with assists from Zaharichuk and James making the score going into the second period 2-0 for the home team. The end of the first period brought a two minute interference penalty to Oilers player Carson Beers at the twenty minute mark.

The Dragons continued their goal scoring in the second period with their third goal of the night, Zaharichuk's second of the game, short handed and unassisted at the 12:55 mark. Cook also had his second at 18:43, also unassisted, to bring the score at the end of the second period to 4-0 Dragons. Of the six penalties during the second period, the Oilers took five of them as they continued to play a rough game. The only Dragons penalty at the 4:36 mark was for too many men on the ice.

Third period action included goal number five for the Dragons scored by Rory Davidson with assists from Ryan Gevne and Chad Harrison. Goal number six for the Dragons was also a hat trick for Cook. The Oilers answered back with a third period goal by Rhett Gardner, making it a final score of 6-1 Dragons. The Dragons welcome the Calgary Canucks to town Friday night with a 7:30 p.m. start at the Memorial Arena.
