Meth seized from driver

    The Drumheller RCMP have  arrested a man following a traffic stop near the Gordon Taylor Bridge.
 On Sunday, September 23, shortly after midnight the Drumheller RCMP were conducting a check stop near the Gordon Taylor bridge.  A vehicle passed by the stop while the members were out of their vehicles at a speed that was felt to be unsafe.  
    This vehicle was subsequently stopped and the driver spoken to.  Cst. Jones noted inconsistencies during conversation that he had with the driver.
    The driver was subsequently arrested under suspicion of being in possession of illicit drugs. 
    The vehicle was searched and 5.89. oz of Crystal Meth and $5,775 of cash were subsequently seized as well as a 2006 Toyota Highlander.
    Shaotao QU ( 25 yrs old)  of Calgary, Alberta, is presently charged with possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking as well as possession of proceeds of crime
    QU was released from custody to appear in court in Drumheller on October 19.  QU has no prior criminal convictions.
