Get lost in dino corn maze

For the second year in a row resident and visitors can go and get lost in the corn.

Colin and Vanessa Jensen took a trial run at a corn maze last year, and had so much fun, they are back at it this year. The Drumheller Corn Maze is located just off Highway 9 South at Beynon Corner. It opened on Wednesday, August 1 and will continue operation all summer.

Colin, an avid agriculturalist says he just likes to grow corn, and this is a bit of a challenge. The couple also enjoys bringing smiles to the faces of the young and old that come to this unique combination of agriculture and tourism.

“We had such a great time with the maze last year, and even though it was a trial run, we consider it to have been a great success…the overall satisfaction of every person who went through the maze was very rewarding for us and made it all worth while,” said Vanessa.

The Maze is unique and designed by Maze Play and fitting with Drumheller has a dinosaur design. In fact there are two dino mazes, a large T-rex and a smaller kids maze. The attraction has up to five kilometres of pathways through the towering corn. Washrooms and concession are on site.

Colin adds this year they have a new activity game in the maze for attendees to have fun with.

The maze is 19 kilometres southwest of Drumheller and is open in August from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.  from Wednesdays to Sundays.

It will be also open this fall and wrap up with its haunted Halloween Maze in October.
