Drumheller Garden Tour adds educational element

The third annual Drumheller Garden Tour, taking place on July 21, will be a little different than previous years.

Educational stops will be added to the event this time around, offering lessons on things like how to compost and other gardening tips and tricks.

“This tour offers a chance for people to see some of the most beautiful gardens in Drumheller, that otherwise they wouldn’t be able to see without being invited in,” said Patrice Wolf, owner of the Heartwood Inn and Spa.

Heartwood Inn and Spa is putting on the event this year to raise money for Communities in Bloom, Drumheller Garden Society, and the Community Garden.

“We are really keen on beautifying Drumheller, and showing off some amazing gardens,” said Wolf.

The tour will begin at nine in the morning and each guest will receive a coffee and a muffin to start the day. The day will wrap up around three in the afternoon, with refreshments and goodies.

Right now there is an early bird special on tickets, four can be purchased for the price of three. Advanced tickets are $25 each, and tickets purchased at the door are $30. The tour will begin at the door of the Heartwood Inn and Spa, on July 21, at 9 a.m.

“We will go rain or shine,” said Wolf.
