Most royalty wear a crown, but Ciara Sandum earned a triple crown at the annual Gleichen-Cluny, Standard and Hussar 4-H Show & Sale Achievement Day.
The show and sale was held on Sunday, May 27, 2012 at the Hussar Arena. There were 26 members who showed their steers this year. This year Ciara had the Grand Champion, and did it in style, along the way also winning the Grand Showmanship Award and the Grand Grooming Award.
An excellent job was done by Carcass judge Katie Songer with help from junior judge Cody Brown, Showmanship judge Matt Janzen and Grooming judge Dr. Ty Corbiell.
Chelsea Heryford did an awesome job as MC for the show. Erica Sage, Jessica Sage and Mackayla Kaiser helped out in the show ring.

The best rate of gain @ 4.66 lbs per day went to Eric Sandum.
The awards night for all of the winners will be on Sunday, June 24, 2012 at the Hussar Hall.
As always, Darren Rebalkin did a great job as auctioneer and the local businesses showed their tremendous support in purchasing these steers. Ciara Sandum’s 1,455 pound Grand Champion was purchased by Richardson Pioneer of Hussar for $4.00 and Shane Fraser’s 1,259 pound Reserve Grand Champion was purchased by Western Chevrolet of Drumheller for $3.70.
The Hussar 4-H Beef Club sold their 1,506 pound fundraiser calf to Newell Vet Clinic of Brooks for $2.00. The sale average was $2.58.
