Saskatchewan man sees drug charges dropped

 

A man charged with possession of Marijuana for the purposes of trafficking saw his charges dropped in provincial court in Drumheller.

 

Shane Silvius appeared in provincial court in Drumheller on Friday, May 10. He was charged following a traffic stop on Highway 9 on July 21 of last year for a traffic infraction. Subsequent investigation and search revealed six pounds of marijuana.

Last Friday the federal prosecutor made an application in provincial court to withdraw the charges. 

An application for forfeiture of the illegal substance was made, as well as for a 2000 Cadillac Seville which was  seized following the arrest.
