This week is the final week for the Royal Tyrrell Museum’s annual Speaker Series. To bring things full circle, the talk will a travelogue, similar to the first two Speaker Series talks this year.
Jim McCabe, senior preparation technician and lab supervisor at the Tyrrell Museum will present a talk entitled “Costa Rican Biodiversity.”
In the talk, McCabe will discuss the biodiversity he encountered on the two holidays he spent Costa Rica. The presentation will contain photos of the amazing flora and fauna, and provide a brief introduction about why there is so much biodiversity in the small Central American country.
McCabe has worked at the Tyrrell Museum since before it first opened to the public in 1985. He first started working as an illustrator for the palaeontology department of the Provincial Museum (now the Royal Alberta Museum) and later moved to Drumheller to help set up the Tyrrell Museum.
McCabe has travelled extensively, as part of his career. He has been throughout Canada and has been to China. However, McCabe’s trips to Costa Rica were for pleasure.
The talk is free and takes place in the Tyrrell Museum auditorium. The talk starts at 11 a.m.
