A date for the preliminary hearing for a Drumheller woman who has been charged with defamatory libel is nearly a year away.
An agent for Karen MacKinnon appeared on her behalf in provincial court in Drumheller last Friday, November 18.
MacKinnon was charged last spring of posting messages on Facebook which were allegedly defamatory. In August of this year she elected to have her case tried in a Court of Queen’s Bench with a judge and jury.
On Friday, the court scheduled a two-day preliminary hearing date for October 29-30, 2012.
