Wind topples vehicles in Sunday storm

Drumheller and the rest of southern Alberta was subject to fierce wind storms on Sunday, seeing a trailer tip over near Rumsey and part of a theatre in Strathmore topple down.     Sidewinds flipped a truck and trailer on the paved road near Rumsey and another vehicle was toppled on Highway 56, Drumheller RCMP say.
“A couple people received minor injuries in the vehicle accidents” says Staff Sergeant Arthur Hopkins.
Joyland Theatre in Strathmore saw a brick firewall tumble down around 2:00 p.m. on Sunday. About 70 people were waiting for a matinee showing at the time, but no one heard the commotion, Global Edmonton reported.
The brick slide smashed trees and ripped a 12 metre hole in the lobby roof of the theatre.
Winds were blowing as strong as 100 kilometres an hour.
