Where are you from?
Lacombe, Alberta. It’s a great community to grow up in. We’re raising our three kids there.
Why are you coming to Drumheller?
To play the fundraising concert for Drumheller District 4-H. They won the 2014 “Why 4-H is Great Contest.”
When is the concert?
Friday, November 21, at Drumheller’s Badlands Community Facility.
How many of these fundraising concerts have you played?
This year is the fifth annual “Why 4-H is Great” concert contest with ATB Financial.
Are you just here for the concert?
There is also a mentoring session that afternoon for members of the Drumheller 4-H District.
How did you become interested in 4-H?
I was in beef cattle 4-H for a number of years. My sisters and I were all in 4-H while we were growing up. It had a positive influence on my life.
Have you been to Drumheller before?
Our family has visited The Royal Tyrrell Museum a couple of times, and I played on Canada Day in Drumheller a number of years ago. I played hockey in the arena a few times when I was younger.
What do people enjoy about your music?
A lot of my songs are relatable. I try and make sure everybody can relate.
How do you tweak your style to get a sound that's uniquely yours?
It’s kinda like riding a dirt bike - you gotta get on it and ride it lots to get good at it. You gotta put the miles on the stage and own your song writing skills.

We’re hoping to see everybody out.

Who Are You: Larry Barber

Age: Much younger than Trevor Gough.
Occupation: Station Manager, Great Prairie Oilfield Services Ltd.
How long have you been doing that?
I’ve been in the oilpatch since 1993. Graduated the school of hard knocks.
How long have you lived in the valley?
Moved here in 1997-transfer with work from Estevan,Sask.
What do you miss most about living there?
Rider pride and Rider Nation.
So you’re a Stampeders fan now?
(laughs). No. Though I do like the Flames. They’ve grown on me over the years.
As Remembrance Day approaches...
Both of my Grandfathers served in World War II.
In what capacity did they serve?
My Grandfather that served in England was with the Royal Air Force. He was a Warrant Officer and armorer, and part of the Dam Busters group. He armed and loaded the aircraft with the bouncing bombs.
My other grandfather served with the Royal Canadian Air Force during World War II constructing runways and things of that nature.
Did you serve with the military?
I joined when I was 18, serving with Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry and the Airborne Regiment.
What was your favourite ration to eat?
Beef Stroganoff, but I always carried Tobasco Sauce with me, let’s put it that way.
Would you recommend service in the military?
Absolutely. Any young person uncertain or undecided...It gives you direction, focus and self confidence.
Final Thought?
I encourage the Town of Drumheller to come out and support the November 11 Remembrance Day Service.

What’s most enjoyable about that?
I get to see the insides of all the homes in Drumheller, but the best part is when

somebody finds THE house and they’re all excited. It reminds you of your home purchase.
How long have you been selling real estate?
I got my real estate license in 2009.
Why did you decide to work in real estate?
I wanted to be my own boss. And help people find a home. And I’m a real estate junkie.
Do you prefer the show “Love It Or List It” or “Property Brothers”?
I like the “Property Brothers”, because you get to see the amazing transformation.
What’s an interesting fact about local houses?
There’s a lot of 1960s homes from when the Institution was built that haven’t been updated.
What’s a common mistake people make in buying a home?
Not seeing the bank before seeing the Realtor®.
What work did you do prior to that?
I worked at the Drumheller Institution for ten years.
How long have you lived in the valley?
Born and raised here, and it always felt like home, so I came back after college.
What are your favourite things to do here?
Meet people and volunteer in the community.
How do you relax?
I sleep. I’m pretty high energy all of the time.
What helps give you energy?
A banana and peanut butter smoothie breakfast.
What’s something most people wouldn’t know about you?
I hate wearing socks.
