Who Are You? Sara Fischer

Age: 25.
Employer: Badlands Community Facility.
What do you like most about your job? It challenges me and I enjoy the people I work with and who use the gym.
How long have you been in Drumheller? Six months.
Where are you from? Peterborough.
What do you like most about Drumheller? It’s a smaller town, the sense of community, and the scenery.
Any travel destinations on your bucket list? This is going to sound silly, but I want to go to B.C. I’ve never seen mountains. I’m so close.
What’s the coolest place you’ve been to in Canada? Gros Morne National Park in Newfoundland. There’s so much wildlife and it’s so scenic.
Who would you hang out with for a day? I feel like Gandhi and I could have some good, philosophical chats.
Any hobbies? Hiking, adventuring, playing ukulele, and slack-lining in the park.
Collect anything? Vinyl. I have over 300 records. Things just sound better on vinyl.
What is your most memorable childhood toy? Pogs.
Favourite movie: Star Wars.
What would be your theme song? The Rocky theme song. If I ever won the lottery, I’d pay someone to follow me and just play it.
Favourite sports: Soccer, baseball or kickball. It needs to make a comeback.
Any words of wisdom? Stay classy. I say it all the time.

Age: 27.
How long have you lived in Drumheller? Since 1999.
Where are you from originally? Calgary.
What do you like most about Drumheller? I’ve met a lot of interesting people and you can walk into a place and run into people you know.
Any travel destinations on your bucket list? Paris for the shopping and food.
Anywhere you’ve been to that stands out? Powell River, B.C., it was amazing.
What three things would you take to a deserted island? My cell phone, my special monkey Bartholomew, and extra clothing.
Any hobbies? Baseball, camping, working out, and trying to stay out of trouble.
Who would you want to hang out with for a day? My grandma, because I haven’t seen her in a long time and we used to hang out a lot. For celebrities, my favourite band, Trivium.
What would be your theme song? Bad to the Bone.
What’s on your playlist these days? Rap, some county, a lot of girly dance music, and metal.
Favourite movies/TV shows: Superbad, Super Troopers, and Big Bang Theory.
What would you do with $1 million? Buy a coffee cart to follow me around all day and take my friends on a trip.
What superpower would you want? Just having a cape would be enough to make me feel powerful.
Any words of wisdom? No matter what you do, have fun doing it.

Age: 44.
Occupation: Dentist, Big Country Dental.
What do you like most about your job? I get to do a little bit of everything.
How long have you been in Drumheller? Since last summer.
Where are you from originally? Windsor, Ontario. I’m not used to the winters here.
What do you like most about Drumheller? Hiking through the hills.
Any travel destinations on your bucket list? Easter Island and Fiji. I’d really like to see and touch the Easter Island statues.
Where have you been that really stands out? I really like the Pacific. I’ve been to Tahiti and Hawaii.
Who would you like to hang out with for a day? Nikola Tesla to pick his brain and maybe play with his lightning rods.
Any hobbies? Playing with cars. I built a two door Toyota Aristo and a drift car.
What would be your dream car? The new Stingray or a Godzilla, which is a suped-up GTR.
What is one thing you could eat for the rest of your life? Barbecued ribs.
Favourite TV shows: Breaking Bad and Sons of Anarchy.
What do you listen to? A little bit of everything, but not too much country. A lot of Def Leppard, AC/DC, Alicia Keys, Eminem, Flo Rida.
Any words of wisdom? You only have to floss the teeth you want to keep.
