The St. Anthony’s Sabres badminton team is hoping for some strong results at the regional competition to send them to the zone playoffs.
The Sabres are hosting The Rangeland Regional Senior High Badminton tournament come Tuesday, April 19.
“The Regionals include schools from Morrin, Delia, Hanna and Oyen,” said Sabres coach Laurie Lotts.
Competition will be held in boys and girls singles and doubles, and mixed doubles.
She explains this is a qualifying tournament and the top two finalists in each event head to Zones.
Lotts says she has some talented players on the team.
“I have some pretty strong Grade 10 players,” she said. “We’ve done pretty well at regional’s over the last few years.”
    Competition begins at 4 p.m.
