GALLAGHER Robert (Bob) Bruce

GALLAGHER, Robert (Bob) Bruce

August 28, 1942 - February 27, 2012

On Monday, February 27, 2012, Robert Bruce Gallagher (Bob), most wonderful Husband, Daddy, Grandpa, Brother, Uncle and Friend, also known as Uncle Louie passed away unexpectedly at home. He will be so deeply missed by his best friend and loving wife of 47 years, Eileen Gallagher, two daughters;  Terri-Lynn Glenn (David Glenn) and  Marcy Gail Gallagher/aka Evenrude (Trent Fahselt). He is survived by his 5 Grandchildren Tyler, Chance, Jaycee, Erin and Nicole all of Drumheller and  son-in-law Jason Cosens.  Bob also leaves behind a younger brother John Gallagher (Barb) of Rosedale, Uncle Bear (Pam) of B.C. and sister Maryanne (Warren) of B.C.  A special sister-in-law Ivy Johnston and niece Tammy of Manitoba. There are many nephews that touched Uncle Bob’s life.  Dad had a special little buddy named Brandon from the Children’s Hospital. Bob was predeceased by his parents Bob and Anna Gallagher, Brothers Doug Gallagher and Marty Gallagher. The Troll (Bob), Reb and the Byrd pass on the torch for Tonto to carry on. There were also many other people who touched Dad’s heart; Larry Barber and Mary Zacharuk from the Legion; and neighbors Tracy and Mike Symowoniuk. Dad loved playing poker, pool and golfing in the summer with family and friends.  He will be fondly remembered as “Coach” by the Wayne Regulators Men’s Slowpitch Team. He was a volunteer for the Rosedale Fire Department for years and an active Legion Member. He always enjoyed his summer BBQ’s with family, friends and especially celebrating his birthday in August with Tracy.  All were welcome and he made sure no one left hungry.  It will be hard not to see him napping on his patio anymore. After 25 years in the Air Force as a Meteorologist, he worked as a Commissionaire at the Royal Tyrrell Museum. We will miss you like breathing and will see you again.  Prepare a place for us in Heaven, Daddy!  You will be so missed and loved forever. Service will be held on Saturday, March 3, 2012 at the Royal Canadian Legion in Drumheller. Legion Service starts at 12 noon with a luncheon to follow at 1 p.m. Please join us at the Legion to toast Daddy and share any special stories.
