DVSS welcomes new associate principal

Dana Yemen

The Drumheller Valley Secondary School (DVSS) has appointed Dana Yemen as their new associate principal come fall of 2018.

Yemen holds a Bachelor of Physical Education Degree from the University of Alberta, a Bachelor of Education from the University of Calgary, and will hold a Master of Education in the Field of Educational Leadership from the University of Calgary in June of 2018. She has also accepted admission to a Doctor of Education in the Field of Educational Leadership from the University of Western Ontario.

In September 2009 she was hired as a teacher in Three Hills School and in February 2018 became an Instructional Coach at the Golden Hills School Division 75 (GHSD) Division Office where she currently works with teachers in the areas of planning, instruction, assessment, critical thinking, information technology, classroom management and other areas of need.

Her varied teaching experience which includes working with a range of grades from Grade 4 to Grade 12, her extensive coaching background, along with the knowledge and skills she has developed as an Instructional Coach will serve her well in her new administrative role.
