The landscape of news delivery has changed over the years but The Drumheller Mail has been riding this forward tide in print and online and has successfully logged 1 million page views in 2016.
www.drumhellermail.com launched in 1999 as a new outlet to deliver what is local and relevant to readers in the valley and beyond. This was also the advent of many technologies that made gathering and disseminating the news more efficient. In that time, The Mail has gone from analog tape recorders and conventional 35mm film to the age of smartphones and digital photography.
What has remained, is its dedication to timely, newsworthy content keeping readers informed, and with one million views since January 1, 2016, this rings true.
“It is a significant milestone and we take it as a vote of confidence for our staff and proud news team,” said Mail Editor and Publisher Ossie Sheddy. “Our readers can be assured that we will continue our quest to present credible news and to be a leader in print and online.”
www.drumhellermail.com has since become a comprehensive interactive website, sharing community links in everything from employment opportunities to real estate. Recently launched in conjunction with www.drumhellermail.com is the Drumheller Obituaries Facebook page that gives the community a portal to share, even in the most trying times.
In that time, the reach of our publication has grown. We have visitors from across Canada and from 182 countries worldwide. It continues to grow in the age of social media and immediate news.
