Harlem Crowns comedy in motion against DVSS Dynos Sr. Boys

The Harlem Crowns are back again to entertain and  shoot some hoops with the Drumheller Valley Secondary School (DVSS) Dynos Sr. Boys on Monday, March 7.   The exhibition game will be a comedy in motion and the public is invited to attend. The type of basketball played by the Harlem Crowns is called Clownball. The Crowns go through a set of gags and regular comic routines, but every game is different and there is something new every night.  The Harlem Crowns are masters of the ad-lib and situational comedy.  The audience will never know when a new gag is about to be born. There will be verbal rib ticklers for the fans as the Crowns keep a running line of chatter going through the game.  The game will be a fundraiser for Drumheller Athletics to continue supporting  the many programs offered at the school.  Tickets are already on sale at the DVSS office.

Redland resident Hailey Kenney and Rockyford resident Taneil Kalbhen both participated in the 2016 Alberta Winter Games in Medicine Hat.  They played for Zone 2 Ringette and came through the round robin with three wins and placed first in their pool.  However,  they lost the Gold, playing Zone 3 Calgary and lost the Bronze by 1 goal, to Zone 6 Edmonton.  Hailey’s mom Jacquie Kathol-Kenney spoke with The Mail and said, “ So proud of this girl and her Zone 2 team. They played their hearts out in Medicine Hat this past weekend. Their team won the Spirit Award and created many memories!”
