bantams.jpgFour local hockey players can now brag they were on the best bantam hockey squad in Western Canada. Jared Potter, Shayne Gwinner, and Josh Kluck of Drumheller and Dru Hickle of Hanna all play for the Airdrie Xtreme AAA Bantam hockey team. The Xtreme went 5-0 over the weekend beating out the top teams from Western Canadian provinces, becoming the Western Canada Champions. “The team really came together this year, we had lots of big names and we just worked our way up,” said Josh Kluck.

Sean Davies, 13 a student of St. Anthony’s, finished the season on top as captain of the Wheatland Warriors when they won their final playoff series against Cranbrook on Thursday, March 26. Dynos win provincial silver

dynos.jpgThe DCHS senior boys basketball team have done one better than last season and have come home with provincial silver. The Dynos were at the provincial tournament in Picture Butte over the weekend. The team came home with a second place finish, right behind the tournament hosts, the Sugar Kings. “The guys saved their best basketball for the last time of the year,” said head coach Jeff Messom. We played the style of basketball we have been wanting to play, intense, aggressive in your face. I was told one of the college scouts mentioned that it would be the fire power of Picture Butte versus the intensity of Drumheller in the final.”
