Dynos undefeated through first Tourney, home opener

The DCHS Senior boys Dynos are off to a flying start this season with a tournament win, and then a victory last Monday at their home opener.
The Dynos faced Prairie Christian Academy on Monday, December 16. The team jumped out to a 24 point lead in the first quarter. This allowed coaches to play their whole bench and get a look at all of their players in a game situation, as well as give the players valuable on-court experience.

Atom Tier 3 Yavis Raptors split weekend after realignment

After re-tiering weekend, the Raptors came away with a split in a 2 game weekend. Chestermere was in town on Saturday, November 28 and came at us strong as we found ourselves down 3-0 in the first 5 minutes.
Coach Scott called a time out and settled the troops down. It was a good call as the Raptors responded with 3 goals of our own from Eric Westman, Nathan Waiboer and Tyler Cardamone.
Chestermere got a second wind as they fired 3 more quick goals to start the 2nd period. The kids played hard but could not get the equalizer as they fell 6-5,
Scoring came from Tyler Cardamone 3G, 1A; Nathan Waiboer 1G, 1A, Eric Westman 1G, Tanner Boutin 1A, Jake Petrie 1A, Zach Suntjens 1A, Bradyn Crone 1A.
They were off to Okotoks on Sunday, November 29. With the Grey Cup underway with exciting plays and atmosphere, so too was the action on the ice in the Piper Arena. The kids were due for a breakout game.
The team came our flying as Tyler C. took the puck into the offensive zone and scored in the first 2 minutes of the period. The kids were skating and passing and working hard. Eric “the Big E” Westman got the call in net and made a number of pad saves to keep it close. With six minutes left in the 2nd period, Zach “Attack” Suntjens wired one past the Okotoks goalie for a 3-2 lead.
The team was high, with 20 minutes away from their 2nd win of the season. The 3rd period was close as it was end to end action until the “Snowman” Devon Snow put it away in the top shelf, with a beautiful pass from Tyler C.
The defensive play of Liam, Tyler H, and Tanner helped preserve the win 5-3. Strong along the boards were Jake, Kevin, Sean, Bradyn, Haylea and Nathan. Scoring were: Tyler C. 2G, 2A, Devon 1G, 1A, Kevin 1G,  and Zach 1G.

Fast action at 4 on 4 tourney

4-x-4-team-pic.jpg    Playing 4 on 4 hockey at the Hockey Alberta tournament this past weekend is great fun for kids, and your hockey skills better be top notch as well.
Co-sponsored by the Sports Room Source for Sports, nine player teams consist of a goalie and two- four player lines. Play is non-stop and the buzzer sounds after two minutes, signalling a line change.
