Badlands Basketball camp wraps up year

basketball-camp.jpgThe Badlands Basketball camps wrapped up on Thursday July 9th, with the final day of the Junior Camp and the Elite camp ending on Sunday, July 5th.
Both camps had over 20 participants and were full of promising young basketball stars.
The camps were put on by Chad Pidhaichuk and Jesse McLean, with help from Ryan Wade, Tyler Fournier and Will Belliveau, all DCHS Dynos basketball alumni. The camp covered topics such as individual offense & defense, shooting, ball handling and transition offense and defense.

Kinsmen supports DCHS Basketball trip

kinsmen-to-bball.jpgDCHS girls basketball coach Laura Hegberg, left, accepts a donation  of $1,600 from Kinsmen Club member Ashley Wright. The senior girls basketball team helped the Kinsmen Club serve up their annual Canada Day Pancake Breakfast at Riverside Value Drug Mart. The team is busy raising funds for a trip to Hawaii.

U18s take silver at provincials

u18.gifAfter travelling an undefeated road into Stettler for provincials this past weekend, the Drumheller U18 soccer team took home silver after competing with Alberta’s best.
Despite placing ninth last year, the team met their goal to advance to the gold medal final on Sunday, July 5 where they lost 4-1 against a strong squad from Medicine Hat.
