The U18 React/ DT Fire Raptors are into the postseason and eclipsed the Olds Grizzys through the first round.
The Raptors finished up the regular season on February 15, with a 9-4-3 record and on Friday night February 21 took on Olds in the first round of the playoffs.
Before taking ice the teams honoured their senior players. This year five players are graduating, including David Morton, Kegan Regis, Gavin Olsen, Corbin Moulton and Spencer McIntyre.
The Raptors dominated from the puck drop with a 4-0 win. Chase Maunula had a goal and two assists in the effort. Reid Macfarlane had two goals and Chase Mackey had one in the victory. Moulton had the shutout stopping 21 shots.
On Saturday, the Raptors were on the road for Game Two versus the Grizzlys. This time Olds showed some fight, but the Raptors tamed the Grizzlys with a 4-3 win. Gavin Olsen has a goal and an assist, as did Kegan Regis. Jayse Nail and Chase Mackey each also notched a goal.
With this win, the Raptors are into the semifinals where they will face Beiseker.
