Dianne Taubert

TAUBERT
Dianne

February 29, 1940 - February 13, 2024

Dianne (Watt) Taubert, beloved wife, mom, grandma, great grandma, sister, sister in-law and friend passed away unexpectedly on February 13th, 2024.
Dianne was born in Drumheller, one of seven children in the William and Gladys Watt family. She grew up in Rosebud, and as a young girl she had the run of the village. She was a tomboy in every way possible, preferring to be outside hanging out with her older siblings down at the creek rather than staying at home with her mother and baby sister.
She moved to Calgary and attended Henderson Business College. She worked at Alberta Distillers and AGT. Dianne and Art were married in Rosebud, on October 28, 1961. They continued to live in Calgary, moving to Hussar in 1964 and to the family farm in 1965.
Mom shared dad’s love of the farm and they were a true team, they worked hard and sacrificed to grow the farm. Building the farm from the ground up, watching Kevin continue to build on its foundation was a huge source of pride. Having our family together brought mom immense joy!
Mom participated or volunteered with many groups and clubs, the skating club, she was a 4H leader, a member of the women of Unifarm, the Hussar Seniors, and the Hussar Historical Society.
Mom was a creative soul and could see the potential and beauty in the simplest of things. She could gather weeds and grasses and turn them into beautiful bouquets. She sewed most of our clothes and loved to dress us all in matching outfits. Our Barbie’s always had the latest fashions as well. Mom loved to throw Halloween parties for us with scavenger hunts, haunted houses, and games. She also enjoyed sewing costumes for those parties and town dances.
On our birthdays we all received homemade birthday cards, made to suit each one of us. Mom also enjoyed celebrating her special birthdays; a sweet 16 party, a pub crawl for her 18th, and she was going on a cruise for her 21st birthday.
Mom loved history and believed strongly in lifelong learning and reading and encouraged us all to keep learning and reading.
She is lovingly remembered by her children Kristen and Peter Anderson, Kim and Alvin Sandum, Kevin and Carey Taubert, and Koren and Brad McDougald. Her grandchildren Ciara and Riley, Raine and Russell, Liam, Wacy and Jill, Reese, Owen, Camryn, and Elli. Great grandchildren RJ, Heston, and Rose.
Dianne will be missed by many including her sisters, Colleen Julian and Joy Whittaker, brother-in-law Cookie Taubert and sister in laws Joanne, Marie, Hazel, Cec, and June, many nieces and nephews, and the Hastie girls.
She was predeceased by her husband Art Taubert, parents Bill and Gladys Watt, her brothers Edgar and Jim, her sisters Shirley and Marilyn, sister in-law Betty Watt, brother in laws John Pringle, Joe Julian, and Jerry Whittaker.
She was very active and loved to visit with young and old equally, her door was always open, the coffee was always on.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, March 8th at 2:00 pm at the Hussar Community Hall. To honour mom, please wear bright, sassy colors! No ties required!
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Hussar Historical Society – Centennial Project or the Hussar Ag Society.

April 4, 1968 -
February 2, 2024

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Jessie, affectionately known as “Brat” by her nephew and nieces.
Jessie had a huge passion for life and traveling with her close friends. At craft shows big and small, you would always find Jessie there with all her handmade treasures. Jessie was a kid at heart and absolutely loved Halloween. She would even dress up to take her nieces and nephew out Trick-or-Treating as they grew into their teenage years. Every year, no matter the weather, her front yard would transform into a spooky haunted house, and she loved to scare all of those who dared to enter. Jessie found profound happiness with Todd, the love of her life, and together, they created a wonderful life in the country alongside their three beloved cats.
Jessie will forever be loved and missed by her fiancé, Todd, sisters Leslie and Tammy, nephew James (Kirstin), nieces Jacalyn, Ashton (Kutis), Jessie (Darren), Shelby (Angela), and Nicolle. She also leaves behind a great-nephew, Bentley, and great-nieces Summer and Saidee. Preceding her in death are her father James (Jim), mother Agnes, sister Laura, and brother-in-law Michael.
You will forever be in our hearts; we love you.
Jessie’s family will hold a Celebration of Life in the Summer of 2024.
