Condolences to the family of Peter Jaffray

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Peter Jaffray on Monday, October 1, 2019 at the age of 87 years.
Peter is survived by his wife Mildred, their children, Keith, Kathleen (Fred), Karen (Rodney) and Elden (Laurie) and grandchildren, Brandy, Trina, Paul, Sara,
Anne, Peter, Andrew, Steve and Alexander. He is also survived by his brothers, Gerald (Murium) and Lawrence (Carol); sister, Roseabelle; and sister-in-law, Pam. Peter was predeceased by his parents, Alexander and Bella; brothers, Richard, John and Greig; sister, Lily Jane; brother-in-law, Walley; and sister-in-law, Mickey.
At Peter’s request a private family service will be held.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Drumheller Area Health Foundation (www.drumhellerhealthfoundation.com)
or to the Alberta Heart & Stroke Foundation (www.heartandstroke.ca).
Peter’s family wish to acknowledge and thank the staff in Acute Care at the Drumheller Hospital, and particularly, the Nurses and Dr. Dayo for their professional and compassionate care given to Peter. We also thank the staff at Hillview Lodge in Drumheller for their thoughtfulness and care of Peter during his brief stay at Hillview.

Anthony Michael, beloved husband of Jeanette Kollman passed away suddenly on October 2, 2019 at the age of 81 years.
Tony was born March 11, 1938 to John & Katie Kollman and was the youngest of 5 children. He grew up in Major, Saskatchewan. During this time, he developed a love and passion for baseball, golf and hockey.
Tony received his education at St. Thomas College and the University of Saskatchewan. This led to a career as the Hospital Administrator in Hanna, AB for over
35 years. During this time Tony met the love of his life, Jeanette Jansen. They married on June 14, 1961 and have been soul mates for over 58 years.
Tony had a storied hockey career playing for teams in Alberta, Saskatchewan and the United States. The six leagues Tony played in took him around the globe but Tony made his mark in his 11 years with the Drumheller Miners. He was also on the legendary Allen Cup championship team in the 1965-1966 season.
After Tony’s playing years were complete, he volunteered many hours coaching, scouting and mentoring as a hockey ambassador in the Hanna and Drumheller area, culminating in an induction into the Alberta Hockey Hall of Fame in 2017.
Tony enjoyed numerous rounds of golf and endless happy hours with his teammates and all the lifelong friends he made in Hanna, Arizona and Drumheller.
Tony’s pride and joy were his family. He was a supportive and loving husband, father, uncle & papa. He provided unconditional love and encouragement creating special bonds with all those he loved.
Tony and Jeanette’s life together is celebrated by their three children and their spouses, seven grandchildren and one great grandchild: Brian & Linda Kollman and their children Brad & Tyler; David and Andrea Kollman and their children Tory (Brody Bennett and their son Max), Megan & Erin; Tim & Lori Kollman and their children Courtney & Katie. Tony is survived by his brother Ben (Louise) and his sister Mary Bardick, numerous nieces, nephews and their families. Tony is also survived by 5 brothers-in-law and their spouses, Peter (Phyllis), John (Helen), Jerome (Valeria), James, Raphael (Brenda) Jansen, sisters-in-law, Anne
Dundon, Agnes Flanagan, and Gene (Harold) Kennedy.
Tony was predeceased by his parents John & Katie, his brother Peter and his sister Rosaline Greer.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. on
Wednesday, October 9, 2019 at St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church, 151 3rd St. W., Drumheller, AB with Father Lukas Drapal as celebrant.

Fryda McPhee of Camrose, AB, formerly of Drumheller, AB, passed away on Monday, September 9, 2019 at the age of 93 years.
Left to cherish her memory are her grandchildren Allyn (Rachelle) Storms, Larry (April) Storms and Jeremy Weber; great-grandchildren Justice, Naxhia, Barrett, and Alexander; and sister Val Keyes.
Fryda was predeceased by her husband Gordon; daughters Carol McPhee and Pat Storms; and siblings Helen, Gus, Hughie and Alfred.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 5, 2019 from the Camrose United Church.
If family and friends so desire, memorial contributions in Fryda’s memory may be made to the Breast Cancer Society of Canada or to the Stollery Children’s Hospital.
