JoyRobinson

ROBINSON
(nee Pryce)
Joy Laurel Eleith
formerly of Bath, St. Thomas & Kingston in Jamaica;
London, UK; Brooklyn, NY; and Drumheller, AB

Born: October 29, 1932, Kingston, Jamaica
Died: May 14, 2020, Drumheller, Alberta, Canada

Lovingly called Aunt Posy, she loved back in equal measure her husband Rupert; children Marcel, Janice (Tony Longmore), Grace, and Karen; granddaughter Jeanae; and countless extended and adopted family and friends. A registered nurse for 48 years, she was also an excellent cook, a sought after baker (her Christmas/rum/fruit cake was legendary), storyteller, sage, abandoner of short-term obsessions (sewing, cake decorating, piano playing, the bread machine), and armchair expert on current events. She loved music, puppies, flowers, Coronation Market in Kingston Jamaica, good food (with the exception of okra), an occasional rum cream liqueur, and beautiful clothes. Most of all, she loved the Lord Jesus Christ, in whose arms she is now at peace.
Her Celebration Of Life will be livestreamed on Saturday, May 30 at 2pm MDT. A memorial service will be held in Jamaica at a later date when we can gather together in worship and thanksgiving.
Donations in her honour can be made to your local food banks and shelters.

BLACKMAN
Thomas

May 21, 2020

Thomas Blackman passed away peacefully at Drumheller Health Centre on Thursday, May 21, 2020 after a short yet courageous
battle against cancer. Tom will be cherished in memory by his daughters Janine Turgeon of Penticton, BC, Amber (Owen) Gibbons of Owen Sound, ON and Chelsey Blackman of Flaxcombe, SK. He was loved by his 6 beautiful grandkids Carmyn, Alice, Danika, Lincoln, Odin and Hudson. Tom is survived by his parents Steve (Sandy) Blackman of St. Thomas, ON and Marlene (Dave) Carroll of Shedden, ON as well as sister Cheryl (Brad) and brothers Robert (Rhonda) and Terry (Sherry). He will be dearly missed by all his family and friends. Tom always had a way of drawing people in and forming lasting friendships and memories. He had many passions in his 53 years but the last few years were spent riding his Harley, fishing at the lake and his biggest accomplishment was being a part of United We Roll for Canada in which he formed many long lasting relationships. His story will not end here, as his memory will continue to inspire those he touched in life and will be carried on through them.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, family will be holding a celebration of life at a later date when it is safe for gatherings.
Many thanks go to all of the nurses and doctors at the Tom Baker Cancer Center and Drumheller Regional Hospital, to Gord and Sharmon Hutton as well as all his friends and family for continued support during a trying time.

ANDERSON
Edna Mable

July 10, 1923 - May 7, 2020

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Edna Anderson at Drumheller Health Centre Continuing Care on Thursday, May 7, 2020. Edna was a longtime resident of the Valley. She was known for her dry sense of humour, her green thumb and her love of the Toronto Maple Leafs (that she would never admit). Edna was always very involved in St. Magloire’s Anglican Church and worked at East End School as librarian often speaking fondly of her time there.
Edna is survived by son, Charlie (Louise); son, Fred; grandchildren, Christeen, Kim and William; brother, Jack Elkes (Pat) and their children, Marty and Jill. The family would like to extend a very special thanks to the staff of Sunshine Lodge where Mom spent many happy years; and to the staff of Continuing Care where she spent her last years.
