SWEEP
Grace Maryetta

March 27, 1953 - December 6, 2021

It is with deep sadness that we say goodbye to our beloved sister Grace Maryetta Sweep. She was born March 27, 1953…3rd daughter to Eileen and Ray Sweep of Delia, Alberta. She passed away in Stettler Hospital palliative care on December 6, 2021, with her four sisters by her side. Maryetta was born with many challenges and obstacles to overcome but she was forever a “trooper” with every issue that was presented to her. Our sister was kind, affectionate, had a unique sense of humor and always totally accommodating. Her non-verbal communication didn’t stop her from making herself understood in all the important issues.
We all loved her so much.
Maryetta was predeceased by her mom Eileen Sweep in 2001 and her dad Ray Sweep in 2004. She will be forever remembered and sadly missed by her sisters: Doreen (Marcel) Sabourin; Lynda (Harry) Hewson; Norma Sweep and Edna Wolfe as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Maryetta’s sisters wish to send heartfelt thanks to our family and friends for their prayers and their continued love and support through this journey. To the EMTs, the staff at the Red Deer Hospital and the Stettler hospital palliative care, we appreciated your compassion so very much.
A very special thanks to the Drumheller D.A.R.T.S care givers who for many years provided a wonderful home for Maryetta.
If desired donations may be made to D.A.R.T.S. (Drumheller And Region Transition Society), Box 1447, Drumheller, Alberta, T0J 0Y0, or to STARS Air Ambulance, 1441 Aviation Park NE, Calgary, AB, T2E 8M7.
A graveside service was held on Tuesday, December 14, 2021, 11:00 a.m. at the Mountain View Cemetery in Calgary Alberta. To watch the recording of the service please go to www.hannafuneral.ca, and click on the link on Mary’s obituary.

A very special thank you to Dr. Randolph Brock and all the nurses and staff at the Drumheller hospital for their excellent care and kindness towards our Gido during his end-of-life journey. We sincerely appreciate it.
If anyone so desires, donations may be made to the Drumheller Hospital Palliative Care Unit or to a charity of one’s choice.
