GALLION
James (Jimmy) Ray

June 22, 1969 - August 1, 2022

It is with great sadness and broken hearts that Jimmy’s family announces his sudden passing in Stettler, Alberta on Monday, August 01, 2022 at the age of 53 years. Jimmy was born at the Drumheller Hospital on June 22, 1969.
In his youth he loved to play Hockey and Baseball…but the best sport was having his friends come to visit. They would roam the hills of Cambria dirt biking or playing silly games. Dirt biking got Jimmy interested in motorcycling. The day he bought his Harley was one of his proudest days, you would have thought he won the lottery. Later in life he took an interest in golf and enjoyed the days he could challenge his best friend Cal to a game. Jimmy tried various careers throughout his life and truck driving was the career that he finally settled on and was the happiest doing. He spoke fondly of all the trucking friends and buddies he made along the way and was well known among them for his Roadside BBQ’s.
Jimmy had a heart of gold and would help family, friends or neighbors that needed it. His family and friends meant the world to him, especially his son Ben. Often, he would go without to help a family member or friend out. He always made sure that his mom and dad were taken care of and would call them 2-3 times a day to make sure they were okay. As his nephew Jeff said, “Uncle Jimmy was a kind soul with a great big heart and will be missed.”
Jimmy is lovingly remembered by his loving son Ben (Megan); parents Morag and Jim Gallion; siblings Elizabeth (Blair) Potter and Dorothy McConnell; nieces Alyssa (Josh) Clarke/Knelson, Jenn (Logan) Wall, Molly McConnell, Morgan McConnell; nephews Jeffrey (Romi) Potter, Jared (Richele) Potter, Jesse Clarke; great nieces Paisley and Ellie Potter, Lily and Harper Wall, Olivia Knelson; great nephew Parker Knelson; numerous aunts and uncles; cousins; ex partner Christy Jones - mother of Ben; and many friends who thought of him as a brother.
He was predeceased by his grandparents; John and Peggy Craig and Ray and Elizabeth Gallion; nephew Trenton Clarke; brother in law John McConnell.

Those we love never truly leave us.
There are things that death cannot touch.
Rest in peace Jimmy, we love and miss you.

A celebration of Jimmy’s life will be held at the Stettler Funeral Home & Crematorium on August 12, 2022 at 2 PM, followed by a time of reflection, refreshments and interment will take place in Omega Cemetery, Gadsby, AB.
